Celebrated Bishop William Kiplagata Tuimising has called on Kenyans to remain peaceful even as the campaigns continue to gather steam across the country.
Tuimising spoke during the celebration of his 60th anniversary of ministering at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) on Friday, July 1.
The colourful event was graced by Deputy President William Ruto’s wife Mama Racheal Ruto and other high-profile guests including Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MUSCK) boss Ezekiel Mutua and Deliverance Church overseer Bishop Mark Kariuki and Bishop Arthur Kitonga.

Tuimising, who is the former overseer of Deliverance Church International, used to occasion to pray for Kenya ahead of the August 9 General Election.
He urged politicians to be tolerant and campaign on a high plane of dignity and discipline.
“I want to challenge Kenyan leaders to forgive one another, especially during this election period, there is no peace without forgiveness,” he urged.
The preacher led the Deliverance Churches for 22 years before handing over to Bishop Kariuki who is still in charge.
He has been instrumental in fostering unity and building a cohesive country.
When chaos erupted after the 2007 (Post-Election Violence 2007/08), Tuimising led other religious leaders in praying for peace and unifying warring parties. He was part of the team to brokered the truce.
When teachers called for a countrywide strike during the reign of Ambrose Adongo as the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) boss, Tuimising together with other bishops mediated between the government and teachers, and solved the matter amicably.
The tutors agreed to resume duty without signing a return-to-work formula as was the norm.
Tuimising has founded more than 300 churches and rehabilitated more than 500 street children.
Members of the Evangelical Movement feted him with honourable cleric status during Mashujaa day celebration in 2020.
Mama Rachel Ruto hailed Tuimising for his dedication to serving not only Kenya but the entire world for a record 60 years.
“Sixty years in the Ministry is not a walk in the park, we will forever cherish and appreciate the work you have done and we pray God continues to bless you so that you can touch more lives,” she said.
She also echoed the bishop’s message and prayer for a peaceful election.
Mama Rachel has been spreading peace messages across the country since the campaigns started.
