Today Cabinet Secretaries for Devolution, Transport, Mining and Petroleum,Eugene Wamalwa, James Macharia and John Munyes respectively paid Vihiga Governor Dr. Wilber Ottichilo a courtesy call in a bid to commission the tarmacking of the historical 15 km Gisambai -Hamisi – Shamakhokho road and handing over of 10 acres of land for a granite factory in Em’mwatsi, West Bunyore ward.
The Gisambai-Hamisi- Shamakhokho road will be tarmacked for the first time since independence in 1963.
CS Munyes said that his docket has already given out 15 million shillings for fencing the granite factory land as it awaits construction soon.
CS Wamalwa also assured the county that Kaimosi University will get a charter soon for it to be a fully fledged University.
Governor Ottichilo thanked all the CSs and the President and welcomed the move which will improve the county’s economy once they are all complete.
This comes after five western region governors; Wilber Othichilo, Wycliffe Oparanya, Patrick Khaemba, Wycliffe Wangamati and Sospeter Ojamong met and urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to fast track completion of stalled and major projects in their respective Counties.
Among members present were Vihiga County Commissioner Ochillo Oyugi, Deputy Governor Dr. Patrick Saisi, Hamisi Member of Parliament Dr. Charles Gimose and other leaders drawn from both national and county governments.
