Four people quarantined in Embu after trips abroad

Four people who returned to Kenya from the Netherlands and United Kingdom have been placed under quarantine in Embu County, Governor Martin Wambora said on Thursday.
Speaking during a press conference at the county headquarters, Governor Wambora said the four will remain in isolation despite not showing any signs of the coronavirus.
“We have quarantined them at their respective homes. Their movement will remain restricted for 14 days,” Wambora said.
The governor did not divulge any further details about the four individuals, whom he added will be tested should they show any signs of COVID-19.
“Residents informed us immediately after they landed so we took appropriate action.”
Wambora who declared the county currently free of any confirmed case of the COVID-19 said the county had taken additional measures to mitigate its spread.
Public health officers have been ordered to ensure that pubs are closed for 30 days while the miraa market in the central business district has been moved to Embu Stadium temporarily. Moreover, miraa traders will pay be required Sh50 daily for maintaining hygiene at the stadium.
