The number of confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Kenya stands at 25 after the government announced on Monday that nine new cases were reported.
Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said that seven of the cases are Kenyans while two of the others are foreigners.
According to Kagwe the coronavirus cases are spread out in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kilifi and Kwale counties.
Kagwe also lamented that Kenyans’ indiscipline is really costing the government in its efforts to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
“It’s unfathomable that we can’t adhere to government measures and the day this crisis bites hard, you still turn to government with cries of serikali saidia”, Kagwe said.
The nine have been quarantined and are being monitored while the people who have been in contact with them are being traced.
At least 273 people have been tested for the virus in the country so far and there have been no deaths.
